With the start of the new school year, it means that new styles and trends have been adopted.  Have you ever wondered what is in style for this school year?  Most teenagers don’t wear clothes that are considered “out of style”.  There is a little population of students who will wear anything.  We call these people trendsetters.  Unlike that small population, the rest of us want to look “fly” and “cool”.  Here is where having help comes in handy.  If you are a guy who needs help with his style, you have come to the right place.  Here is a list from; head to toe of what are considered the top trends of 2010.

New Era Hats:

oesn’t it seem like this day in age everyone and their brother wears hats?  It seems this way because it truly is that way.  Some people will wear hats that represent their love for their favorite team or clothing brand.  Others wear them purely for color and style.  New Era hats come in all teams, style, color and size.  They are typically around thirty-five dollars and can be purchased online at www.neweracap.com or www.lids.com.  If you do not have access to the Internet, you can purchase them at Lids, which is located in malls all over California.

Sunglasses:

unglasses seem to be worn for style these days and not for their purpose, which is obviously to protect your eyes from the sun.  Glasses come in all styles and colors but these days you mostly see Ray Ban and Spy glasses.  Ray Ban has two very popular styles, which are the Wayfarers and the classic Aviator. These glasses run anywhere between one hundred and one hundred and fifty dollars.  These glasses are high quality, which is why they are pricy.  However, they do make off brands with the same style which are cheaper.  Spy Optics also run around the same price as Ray Bans but look a little different.  I like the Spy Haymakers and the new Tron which I am going to try and get my hands on.  Oakleys and Spys are very similar, with  the only difference being that Oakleys are made for athletes such as baseball players and any other outdoor sports.  These glasses are expensive, but are definitely the best deal and look for your money.  You can get these from any authorized dealer but online is the way to go if you want to get different colors.

V-Necks:

emember when v-necks were considered “not cool”.  Now almost every guy has a v- neck in his closet.  V-necks come in all brands, colors, and designs.  There are two types of v-necks: the “deep v” and the “standard v”.  The deep “v” is just a larger v cut out of the shirt.  There is not much difference in these two styles.  They are generally ten to twenty- five dollars and can be purchased at almost every clothing store.

Slim Straight Jeans:

hese are not skinny jeans!  They are way better.  They look clean and fresh and give your legs room to breathe.  They can be in any jean colors such as grey, black, and all shades of blue.  They look great with Vans shoes because they perfectly form to the tops of them.  You can purchase these jeans “two jeans for fifty- five dollars” at Tilly’s, Zumiez, or PacSun.

Lanyards:

o you drive?  What is holding your keys?  Have you noticed that almost everyone has a lanyard hanging out of their pockets?  Lanyards are in style!!  Lanyards come in whatever you want such as sports teams, favorite brand, or maybe a band.  Lanyards range in price from five to ten dollars and can be purchased at most clothing stores or sporting goods stores.

 I <3 Boobies Bracelets:

o, boys, this is not what you think.  The keep- a- breast foundation has put together bracelets as a fundraiser for breast cancer.  The bracelets are cool and all the proceeds go to a good cause.  They are four dollars, can be purchased at Zumiez, and come in black, white, green, pink, and blue. 

Nike 6.0 Shoes:

hese are not like the normal Nike shoes,but are considered skateboarding shoes.  They are a hybrid shoe that incorporates the street look with the skateboarding look.  They come in hundreds of styles and you could even customize your own to make them whatever color your heart desires.  If you are looking to purchase these shoes, I would suggest you first look at Tilly’s or Zumiez, but you are probably not going to find a pair that matches what you had in mind exactly.  If you do not purchase a pair, go to www.zumiez.com where you will be able to choose from a wider variety.  They range in price anywhere between fifty to one hundred dollars.  These shoes are comfortable and look good with any outfit.  Though they are a bit pricy, they are well worth the money.

Vans Shoes:

ans have been around since 1966 and  recently come back into style about five years ago.  The classic Vans slip-on shoe has expanded into tons of fashionable styles.  Vans, for the most part, come in all colors and fabrics.  Some of the top styles of Vans right now include: Vans Chukka Low, Vans Era, Vans Authentic, Zapato Del Barcos, and the new Vans surf shoes.  Vans are the best shoe you can buy if you like matching everything exactly not only because they are in every color, but because they are pretty cheap.  You could get two pairs of Vans shoes for the price of one pair of Nike 6.0 shoes.  These shoes generally run about forty dollars, but depending on the style you get they could be up to ten dollars more.

Of course there are many more styles out there and maybe they aren’t for you, but these are just some suggestions that may help you pick out pieces for an outfit.   If you take some of these things into consideration when shopping for clothes, you will be considered cool and fashionable.  These items come in all styles so don’t be afraid to explore their depths.  You never know: something you purchase may be setting the trend for high school students of the future.  So the next time your mom gives you a hundred dollars maybe take a look into these styles.  If you take my advice, you will be looking “fly” and rollin’ with the ladies in no time.
